Family Fun Friday

Date: Fridays
Time: 11 a.m.
Ages: All ages
Location: KidZone Museum
Cost: Free for members and with admission.

This is a play-based class designed to inspire and enrich kids’ brains, bodies and hearts. These classes are all about exploration and discovery, where curiosity is treasured and kids are encouraged to feel, touch and learn through sensory activities. Let your kid communicate through art and have some good, Family Fun Friday!

Friday, May 26 - Literacy Sensory Exploration
Adding sensory engaging activities to books can really bring a favorite story to life, encourage play independently and with others, develop language skills, work on early learning skills, and satisfy the senses of a young child. Many young children learn with their whole body and attend better when there are more outlets of sensory processing. Come and join us for some literature-sensory fun!

Friday, June 2 - Sink or Float
Children will investigate which objects sink or float in water. They will explore concepts like weight, density, buoyancy, size, below & above of the water. They will make hypotheses and observe what happens to objects that are placed in the water.

Friday, June 9 - Pounding flowers and leaves
This summer activity is a lot of fun. Kids will develop fine motor skills and observe the colors flowing together to make unique patterns.

Friday, June 16 - Mud Pies
Come and play with mud! This sensory experience helps children to learn and develop cooperating play skills, communicating skills, negotiating and sharing skills. Dress appropriately for mud and water play!

Friday, June 23 - Homemade Puffy Paint
Create your own 'soft and squishy' paint that is not only fun to paint with but looks cool once it dries. Children will get to discover a different texture of the paint, and develop fine motor skills squishing the bottles.
